Visit one of the most exciting areas in Costa Rica, the Tortuguero National Park. This is the most important area in the Western Caribbean for the nesting grounds of the green sea turtle (Chelonia Midas), which can be seen from July to October. This region abounds with rich flora and fauna. Its several waterways allow all kinds of life to grow and develope in a Primary and Secondary Tropical Rain Forest. Orchids, birds, monkeys, crocodiles, sloths, toucans and many other species, can be seen all over the area. A great way to spend time in the Costa Rican forest!

Itinerary 2 days 1 night

Over Night Guest use one day tour itinerary until 12.00 p.m.
• Park entrance ($10) and turtle nesting ($25) not included. Please use dark clothes for this tour. Is not allow more than 10 pounds of luggage per person for every tour.

1:00 pm One's in Tortuguero and after checking into the rooms lunch will be served.

3:00 pm At this time we will take you to the museum of Tortuguero and to the Town of Tortuguero for a walking tour.

5:00 pm Back at the hotel you will have time to relax before dinner which will be served at 6:30 pm.

8:00 pm After dinner, your tour guide will explain the next optional activity ($25), the "night tour", which consist of a boat trip to TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK and then a walk on the beach to observe the nesting of the Giant Green Sea Turtle (only from July to October).

Next day

7:00 am Breakfast is served including plentifull fruit, eggs, gallo pinto and fresh brewed Costa Rican coffee.

8:00 am Check Out.( Bring your luggage with you).
Your tour guide will take you by boat to one of the most enchanting sites in the region: TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK, where you will explore the lagoons and hidden canals. There trees tower nearly 50 meters tall, covered with bromeliads, vines and orchids and an array of wildlife can be spotted in the foliage.

11:00 a.m. Departure from the north of Tortuguero National Park heading to the south of the park.

12:00 pm Lunch.

1:00 pm After lunch we will take a tour to the south of the Park and then a walk through the rainforest.

3:30pm Returning to the bus we head back to San José, making a rest stop along the way and arriving in the city around 6:30 pm.

Day 1

6:20 am Depart from San José accompanied by your bilingual naturalist guide.

6:30 am Driving first past coffee plantations, we´ll head into the mountains of BRAULIO CARRILLO NATIONAL PARK, where steep slopes are covered with thick cloud forest and beautiful waterfalls can be seen from the road. that magnificent 46,000 hectare park is one of Costa Rica´s largest, home to three kinds of monkeys, tapirs, 557 bird species and more than 4000 different species of plants. Your tour guide will identify some of that flora and fauna.

8:00 am Just after BRAULIO CARRILLO NATIONAL PARK, we stop for a typical Costa Rican breakfast, complete with fresh fruit, coffee, eggs and the popular "gallo pinto".

10:30 am We later abandon our bus and embark on the most exciting part of this tour: The boat trip into the jungle on the CARIBBEAN CANALS to the world famous TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK. Covering 1.800 hectares, TORTUGUERO in one of the most important nesting sites for Chelonia midas, the green sea turtle, whereas its forests and waterways are home for such endangered mammals as sloths, monkeys, agoutis, coati mundis and manatees. There are also abundant birds, such as toucans, trogons, egrets, herons and anbingas, as well as crocodiles, turtles and countless colorfull butterflies, including the beautiful blue morpho and the boat trip offers a chance to see many of these rare animals up close.
1:00pm Arrival at the hotel and check into rooms.We will enjoy a hearty typical lunch to please the hungriest of appetites.

3:30 pm After your check in your tour guide will take you to explore
Tortuguero village.

5:00 pm Back at the hotel you will have time to relax before dinner which will be served at 7:00 pm.

7:00 pm Delicious dinner.

8:00 pm After dinner, your tour guide will explain the next activity, the "night tour", which consist of a boat trip to TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK to observe the nesting of the Giant Green Sea Turtle (only from July to October)..

Day 2

7:30am Breakfast.

8:00am Accompanied by our guide,we will board our boat to the world famous Tortuguero National Park. As the boat slowly cruises through the canals, we will have chance to observe a great variety of animals such as monkeys, iguanas, egrets, etc.

NOON: Lunch.
Free afternoon to relax or have a walk around the hotel areas.

6:00am Dinner.

7:00am Turtle tour (from july to october only).



Day 3

7:30am Breakfast.

8:00am Tour to a different secundary canal.

12:00pm Lunch

1:00pm Visit to the South end of the park including a walk in the rain forest and a boat tour to the California River to look for even more wild life

3:30pm Return to San Jose at 7:30 pm
